Description

The Active Rockfall Protection Systems consist of wire rope nets (e.g., D0/08/300), support cables, anchor bars, and stitching ropes. These systems apply active tension to the slope surface to restrict rockfall movement, inhibit weathering and spalling, and reinforce unstable rock masses. Depending on the configuration, Active Rockfall Protection Systems achieves a service life of 30 to 50 years under standard hot-dip galvanized coating.

A: GPS2 includes a double-layer protection with a wire rope net plus a steel wire mesh for small rock fragments. GAR2 uses only the wire rope net, suitable for stable rock slopes without small debris.

A: With standard hot-dip galvanized coating (≥100 g/m²), the system lasts ≥30 years. Galfan coating provides ≥50 years, and PE-coated ≥20 years (indirect light).

Q3: Which model is suitable for soil slopes with small rockfalls?

A: GPS2 or GTC-65A is recommended. GTC-65A provides up to 100 years of anti-corrosion life but its reinforcement capacity is 70–80% of GPS2 and is not suitable for rock blocks larger than 1 m³.
