Kick plates (toe boards), checkered plate guards, mounting clips, and other accessories can be welded onto the perimeter as needed.

The edging can be formed using flat bars of a different specification than the bearing bars, or by utilizing angle iron, channel steel, square tubing, or similar profiles.

Handles and hinges may be installed on platform steel gratings that require frequent movement or opening.

The welding standard for the edging of platform steel gratings is as follows: for Series 1, one weld is applied for every five bearing bars; for Series 2, one weld for every four bearing bars; and for Series 3, one weld for every three bearing bars. Each weld consists of a single-sided fillet weld with a minimum size of 3 mm and a length of 20 mm.

Platform steel gratings possess high impact resistance and are capable of withstanding surface impacts.

The surface typically undergoes hot-dip galvanization to provide protection against oxidation; alternatively, stainless steel material may be utilized to enhance corrosion resistance.
